The next time my dad complains about the sleek and souless lobby renovations here, I will send him to the bathrooms. These b-rooms are clearly from a more luxurious era, where as much space is devoted to the marble stalls as is to the gilded-mirrored lounge area, complete with little couches for those who are truly looking to make this their "rest"room or make very important phone calls.
Anonymous accessibility is one of its perks - you don't have to pass through the staffed reception area, just through a lot of dudes in the same button-down shirt headed to the Clock Bar or Michael Mina's.
The Men's Room lacks the lounge area but there is a shoe shining station right outside - down the hall towards the Oak Room, or just come in through their Post St entrance.
